In May 1979, a literature evangelist named Mr. Maung Maung visited a small village called Pauk Kone, sharing books and witnessing the love and the truth about God. One of those who encountered his message was Daw Aung Kyi. Through his literature and testimony, she was introduced to the Sabbath truth, which deeply resonated with her and took root in her heart. Moved by this new understanding, Daw Aung Kyi decided to join the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

However, her decision was met with strong opposition from her husband, who did not accept the teachings. Despite his resistance, Daw Aung Kyi continued praying earnestly for her family’s acceptance of the truth. Her husband accused her of being deceived and even threatened her daily. Anyone who came to their home to share the message was also met with hostility, being called “thieves of sheep.”
